India deposited its Instrument of Acceptance for the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies on 20 July 2026.

With this, India became the 123rd WTO Member to join the Agreement. The acceptance was handed over by Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal.

The Agreement aims to promote sustainable fisheries, protect marine biodiversity and safeguard fish stocks.
