1. Bhawana Kanth Becomes India's First Woman Fighter Combat Leader
Bhawana Kanth became India's first woman Fighter Combat Leader (FCL) after completing the 20-week FCL course at TACDE, Gwalior.
She was commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF) in June 2016 as one of India's first three women fighter pilots.
The other two pioneering women fighter pilots were Avani Chaturvedi and Mohana Singh.

The extension was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Rahul Navin is a 1993-batch IRS (Income Tax) officer.

Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala has taken charge as the Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).
He is an eminent oceanographer and scientist. He succeeds Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, who was holding the MoES charge additionally.
The post was earlier held full-time by Dr. M. Ravichandran.
One of his major contributions was serving as Project Manager of India's Tsunami Early Warning System after the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.
He is associated with INCOIS — Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services.

- High Court judges are appointed by the President of India.
- The appointment is under Article 217 of the Constitution.
- Retirement age of High Court judges: 62 years.
- The retirement age was raised from 60 to 62 years in 1963.
- This was done through the 15th Constitutional Amendment Act.
5. Abelardo de la Espriella Sworn In as President of Colombia
Abelardo de la Espriella was sworn in as the 36th President of Colombia for the 2026–2030 term.
He succeeded Gustavo Petro.
The Vice President is José Manuel Restrepo.
The presidential oath was administered by Honorio Henríquez, President of the Senate and Congress Speaker.

The dispute concerns assets of Oschadbank lost in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
The case is being heard under the 1998 Russia–Ukraine Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT).
