27. ICAR Developed 386 Improved Varieties Across 44 Crops

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) celebrated its 98th Foundation Day on 16 July 2026 in New Delhi.

During 2025–26, ICAR developed 386 improved crop varieties across 44 crops.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Minister for Coal & Mines, launched the 8th Tranche of Auction of Critical & Strategic Mineral Blocks.

A total of 20 blocks across 9 states were included. This consisted of 13 new blocks and 7 re-auctioned blocks.
